Welcome to Phoenix Overdrive's Blog!

New Year, New Goals. #Philanthropy #ExtraLife #RiseAbove

Well, hello there risers! Come on in and take a seat for a few while I give you the grand-ish tour. For those of you that are new around here, let me introduce myself. I'm Becky, also referred to as the Queen of the Guild. For those of you who have been around the block a time or two, it's been a while but I'm happy to see you again! I'm sure you're asking yourself, what am I doing here? This is the home of Phoenix Overdrive! We are a community fundraising team for Extra Life, which benefits Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in our local communities and we need your help.

It's a new year and we have our sights set on the future and meeting some serious goals. Each year I reflect on how blown away I am by not only the funds raised, but our community. What I witnessed this past year was friendly competition, mutual respect for your fellow gamer, and realizing that the Canadian provinces are not taught well in American schools apparently. Aside from that embarrassing moment, we saw our podcasting family and teammates come together in such a special way as we made new friends, connected with current ones on different levels, and felt the power of philanthropy in action.

Just to compare how much of an impact all of the pushing to not only meet but exceed our goals has had, we are now almost to $100,000 as a team raised since inception. We went from 2021 at being ranked 48th out of over 4,000 teams with over $26,000 raised to ending 2022 ranking 35th out of 3,340 teams and raising more than $31,000! We're now over $95,000 raised since inception, and even though we know that by game day we can certainly hit the $100,000 mark, this is a moment to celebrate your hard work and support.

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to being a hero to the kids.
